FBISE's HSSC second annual 2026 exams run Nov 12 to Dec 17, in the afternoon session. Here's the full schedule breakdown, practical exam dates, and exam-day rules.
FBISE HSSC Second Annual Exam 2026: Date Sheet, Timings and What to Know Before November 12
The Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (FBISE) released the date sheet for the HSSC (Part 1 and Part 2) Second Annual examinations 2026 on October 12, 2026. If you're appearing in this attempt — whether as a regular, improvement, or failed candidate — here's what the published schedule actually says, and how to plan the weeks ahead.
When the exams run
Written papers begin November 12 and continue through December 17, 2026. Unlike FBISE's usual morning annual exams, this second annual sitting is held in the afternoon/evening session: papers run from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM, and candidates are required to report to their examination centres by 1:30 PM to complete pre-exam formalities before the paper starts.
Sundays are off throughout the exam period — specifically November 15, 22 and 29, and December 6 and 13 — so the roughly five-week window has built-in rest days between papers.
What's scheduled first
Based on the published date sheet, the opening days look like this:
- November 12: Mathematics-II, along with Home Nursing, Geography, Elective Urdu and Commercial Geography
- November 13: Physics-I
- November 14: English (Compulsory)-II
Further into the schedule, several major science and math papers fall in the following sequence:
- November 24: Biology-I
- November 26: Physics-II
- November 28: Mathematics-I
- November 30: Chemistry-II
December's papers cover the remaining subjects, including Computer Science, Biology, Chemistry, Economics, English, Statistics, Islamic History, Accounting, Fine Arts and Home Economics, spread across the dates leading up to December 17. Compulsory Urdu, Pakistan Studies, Islamic Education and Translation of the Holy Quran also appear within the schedule. Because the exact date for every individual subject varies and some subjects use different paper codes for different syllabus versions, don't rely on a summary like this one for your own paper date — confirm your specific subject and code against the official date sheet published on the FBISE website before you finalize your study plan.
Practical exams
Practical Based Assessment (PBA) components for Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Computer Science are scheduled between November 27 and December 17, run alongside the written exam period. Practical exams for subjects not covered under PBA begin separately on December 21, 2026, in morning or afternoon sessions as assigned by individual centres; an end date for this phase hadn't been announced at the time the main date sheet was released.
Rules to know before exam day
- Mobile phones, smartwatches and other unauthorized electronic devices are banned inside examination centres — leave them at home rather than risk being turned away at the gate.
- Bring your official roll number slip to every single session; it's required for entry regardless of how many papers you've already sat.
- Double-check your paper code before you start writing. FBISE uses separate codes for Part-I and Part-II papers, and for different syllabus versions of the same subject, so sitting the wrong version can cost you the attempt.
- Overseas examination centres follow timings communicated separately by the board, which may not match the 2:00–5:00 PM schedule used domestically.
How to plan your last four weeks
With exams starting November 12, that leaves roughly three to four weeks from now to finalize revision. Given the afternoon timing, it's worth adjusting your study and sleep schedule in advance — shifting toward being mentally sharp at 2 PM rather than relying on a routine built around morning exams. Since several heavy subjects (Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics) are spread out with papers roughly every two days once they begin in late November, use the earlier papers — Home Nursing, Geography, Elective/Commercial Urdu-Geography line-up, and English — as a chance to build exam-day rhythm before the harder science and math sequence starts.
As always with date sheets, treat this as a guide rather than a substitute for the official document. Roll number slip issuance dates weren't confirmed in the sources available at publication, so watch your board's notice board or portal for that separately.
