Registration for the first series of NUST's 2027 entry test opens in early October. Here is the exact timeline, the fee, and the step-by-step application process.

Students planning to apply for undergraduate admission at the National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST) for the 2027 intake now have a concrete starting point: registration for NET 2027 Series 1 opens on 4 October 2026 and closes on 14 November 2026, with the test itself beginning 17 November 2026 in Islamabad.

NUST runs its entry test across four separate series spread through the admission cycle rather than a single national sitting, so understanding where Series 1 fits matters before you register.

    Series 1: what to expect

Series 1 registration runs 4 October to 14 November 2026, with testing starting 17 November 2026 in Islamabad only — later series add Quetta, Karachi, and Gilgit as test cities. Being the first series, it is generally the option for students who already feel test-ready and want an early result, since NUST uses a candidate's best score across whichever series they sit.

    How to register

The registration process runs entirely through NUST's own undergraduate admissions portal, ugadmissions.nust.edu.pk, and follows these steps:

    1. Create an account on the portal using a working email address.
    2. Complete the online application form and upload a recent passport-size photograph.
    3. Generate and print your fee invoice from your account page once the form is submitted.
    4. Pay the test fee — Rs. 5,000 for Pakistani and dual-nationality candidates (USD 40 equivalent) — through 1Link using the 17-digit 1Bill number shown on your invoice, or via a bank's mobile app, ATM, Easypaisa, or JazzCash.
    5. Select your test date, session, and preferred test centre, after which your roll number and test slot are confirmed on your account.

To register, you will need a valid CNIC, Form-B, or NICOP number — one of these is required at the account-creation stage, so have it ready before you start rather than partway through the form.

A few practical notes before you pay

The test fee is non-refundable once paid, and NUST does not allow it to be transferred from one series to another — so only pay once you are reasonably sure which series and test date you intend to sit. If Series 1's 17 November date doesn't leave you enough preparation time, it may be worth waiting for Series 2, which typically runs from December 2026 through January–February 2027 testing, rather than registering for Series 1 and risking an under-prepared attempt that still costs the full fee.

Because this schedule is published as tentative by NUST, it is worth cross-checking the exact dates on ugadmissions.nust.edu.pk shortly before you register, in case of any last-minute adjustment to the series timeline.
