UHS Lahore's MBBS application window for Punjab's public-sector medical colleges closes October 30, 2026. Here's the full schedule, eligibility criteria, merit formula, and how to apply.
The University of Health Sciences (UHS) Lahore has opened online applications for MBBS admissions to Punjab's public-sector medical colleges for the 2026-27 session, and the clock is already running: the application window closes on October 30, 2026, at 5:00 PM. If you're a pre-medical student planning to apply, here's what the published schedule, eligibility rules, and merit formula actually say.
Key dates for MBBS applicants
Online MBBS applications opened on October 16, 2026, and close on October 30, 2026, at 5:00 PM. For candidates with disabilities who need to appear before the Medical Board at the UHS City Campus, that process runs from November 3 to 5, 2026. UHS plans to release a provisional merit list on November 13, followed by the final merit list on November 16, and the first college-wise selection list on November 17. A second selection list is expected on November 23, and a third on December 1, with classes scheduled to begin February 1, 2027.
BDS admissions follow a separate, later timeline: applications open December 15, 2026, and close December 30, 2026, with provisional and final merit lists in early-to-mid January 2027 and classes starting March 1, 2027.
Importantly, UHS's own notice states that this schedule "may be revised in accordance with directions issued by the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council" or the Government of Punjab. Treat every date above as the currently published plan, not a guarantee, and check uhs.edu.pk directly closer to each milestone.
Who's eligible to apply
To apply for MBBS, you need to have passed MDCAT 2025 or 2024 as specified in the notice, with at least 55% marks; for BDS, the MDCAT requirement is at least 50%. On the academic side, you need HSSC (Pre-Medical) or an IBCC-recognised equivalent qualification with at least 60% marks, including Biology, Chemistry, and Physics or Mathematics. If your qualification is from outside Pakistan, you'll need an IBCC equivalence certificate before you can apply.
Overseas Pakistani and dual-national applicants have an alternate route: they can qualify using MDCAT scores, or SAT-II scores with a minimum of 550 in Biology, Chemistry, and Physics or Mathematics, or ACT scores, as set out in the notice.
Domicile documentation is required for open-merit seats as well as provincial and district quota seats. If you're applying under a reserved category, such as a disability quota or overseas Pakistani status, you'll need the relevant supporting documents, such as a domicile certificate or a disability certificate issued by a government authority.
How your merit is calculated
UHS calculates your overall merit aggregate using a fixed weightage formula: your Matriculation or equivalent result counts for 10%, your FSc/HSSC Pre-Medical (or equivalent) result counts for 40%, and your MDCAT score carries the largest share at 50%. Since MDCAT dominates the formula, it remains the single biggest factor in where you land on the merit list, even though your board exam results still matter.
How to apply, step by step
Applications are submitted online, not on paper. MBBS applicants register through publicmbbs.uhs.edu.pk, while BDS applicants use publicbds.uhs.edu.pk. During registration, you'll provide your name, email, CNIC or passport number, mobile number, and a password to create your account.
After registering, fill in your personal, domicile, and academic details, including your SSC and HSSC marks, subjects studied, and passing years, and upload scanned copies of your required documents in PNG or JPG format within the portal's size limits. You'll then need to pay a non-refundable processing fee of Rs. 2,000 through the Bank of Punjab; the notice specifically says the 1Bill top-up payment option is not accepted for this fee. Once you've paid, upload your challan or payment receipt, review everything carefully, and submit your application. Keep a copy of everything you submit for your own records.
One detail worth noting: you can edit your college preferences any time before the application deadline, but changes aren't accepted once the window closes, so it's worth finalizing your preference order with care rather than leaving it until the last minute.
A note for overseas Pakistani applicants
Candidates applying under the overseas Pakistani seat category should be aware that the notice sets an annual fee of US$10,000 for those who are selected under this route, separate from the standard application processing fee.
Bottom line
With the MBBS application deadline just days away, the most useful thing you can do right now is register on the UHS portal, gather your documents, and submit before October 30 at 5:00 PM, while keeping an eye on uhs.edu.pk for any official revisions to the dates or requirements described here.
