Initially IBA functioned under the umbrella of University of Karachi . It was only in 1982 that the IBA was granted the charter by Sindh Government and hence it was upgraded to the status of a University and recognized as a separate entity .IBA has shown remarkable growth and progress since its inception. The university expanded itself to offer quality education to the masses. Up till 2003 the university only offered undergraduate study programs. However now, the IBA is acknowledged as an interdisciplinary University that is authorized to offer undergraduate, graduate and post graduate programs. IBA has inherited academic standards from prestigious International Universities. The international standards of higher education are zealously guarded by the IBA University.
