About Punjab Vocational Training Council (PVTC)
The Punjab Vocational Training Council (PVTC) was set up in October 1998 under the PVTC Act as a public-private partnership of the Government of the Punjab. It provides free, demand-driven skills training to young people from low-income families, funded largely through zakat. PVTC's own site lists about 190 vocational training institutes and 63 trades, and says it has trained over one million youth since it began. Counts change from year to year.
