Allama Iqbal Open University has postponed exam papers scheduled for October 12 and 13 at several Khyber Pakhtunkhwa centers, citing the law and order situation.
Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) has postponed Spring 2026 semester examination papers that were originally scheduled for October 12 and 13, 2026, at designated exam centers in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, including Peshawar, Mardan, Swat, Kohat, Bannu, and Dera Ismail Khan.
The university cited a deteriorating law and order situation in parts of the province, along with security precautions and administrative closures in some districts, as the reasons for the postponement.
The papers originally set for October 12 have been rescheduled to November 2, 2026, while those set for October 13 have been moved to November 3, 2026.
Hazara Division, including Abbottabad, Mansehra, and Haripur, is not affected by the postponement and continues on the original date sheet. Exam centers in Punjab, Sindh, Balochistan, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Azad Jammu and Kashmir are also unaffected and continue as scheduled. Papers from October 14, 2026 onward are unchanged nationwide, including in KP.
AIOU has clarified that students do not need a new roll number slip or re-registration, as existing admit cards remain valid for the new November dates. Exam venues and session timings are also unchanged.
Students have been advised to verify their course codes against the university's notice through the AIOU Student CMS Portal, and to check the news section of the university's official website for the full press release. Those needing further guidance have been directed to contact their nearest AIOU regional office in Peshawar, Swat, Mardan, or Dera Ismail Khan.
