Allama Iqbal Open University has moved two Spring 2026 exam papers at its Khyber Pakhtunkhwa centres from mid-October to early November because of a deteriorating law and order situation in parts of the province.
Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) has postponed two of its Spring 2026 semester examination papers at centres in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, citing a deteriorating law and order situation in parts of the province.
According to the university's notification, papers originally scheduled for Monday, 12 October 2026, and Tuesday, 13 October 2026, at KP examination centres have been moved to Monday, 2 November 2026, and Tuesday, 3 November 2026, respectively. The affected centres include those in Peshawar, Mardan, Swat, Kohat, Bannu and Dera Ismail Khan.
The university clarified that the change applies only to the specific KP centres facing security concerns. Exam centres in the Hazara division, including Abbottabad, Mansehra and Haripur, are not affected and will continue on the original schedule, as will centres in Punjab, Sindh, Balochistan, Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir. Papers scheduled from 14 October 2026 onward were also unaffected by this notice.
AIOU said session timings and exam centre locations for the rescheduled papers remain unchanged, and students' existing roll number slips will continue to be valid for the new dates, meaning no fresh roll number slip is required. The university cited student safety and logistical concerns, including local administrative closures, as the reason for the postponement.
Students enrolled in the affected papers at KP centres have been advised to note the new dates and retain their original roll number slips, while continuing to check AIOU's official communications for any further updates.
