BISE Lahore has started its Matric Second Annual Examination 2026 with the English paper, as district authorities impose Section 144 around exam centers through October 17.

The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Lahore has begun its Matric Second Annual Examination 2026, giving students who missed the regular annual exams, faced unavoidable circumstances, or want to improve their grades a chance to clear subjects without losing an academic year. The exams opened with the English paper, held in morning and evening shifts at centers across Lahore and surrounding districts. A board spokesperson described first-day attendance as satisfactory and said question papers were distributed on schedule. To prevent malpractice, the district administration has enforced Section 144 around examination centers. Under the order, unauthorized persons, including relatives and parents, are barred from entering or gathering near exam venues, with violators outside centers facing legal action. Flying squads and vigilance teams are conducting surprise checks and monitoring exam halls. For Class 10 candidates, the Second Annual Examination continues through October 17, when the final Chemistry paper is scheduled. Class 9 candidates will then sit their own Second Annual papers starting October 18 with Pakistan Studies, concluding on October 28 with General Science. BISE Lahore has reminded candidates to bring their original roll number slips along with valid identification, such as a B-Form or school ID, and to reach their exam centers at least 30 minutes before each paper begins. Mobile phones, smartwatches, and other digital devices are not permitted inside examination halls.
