COMSATS University Islamabad's Lahore campus is accepting applications for the HEC Need-Based Scholarship, which covers tuition fees and pays a Rs. 6,000 monthly stipend to eligible undergraduates.
COMSATS University Islamabad's Lahore campus has invited applications from financially needy undergraduate students for the HEC Need-Based Scholarship Program, with completed forms and supporting documents due by Thursday, October 15.
The scholarship is open to BS and undergraduate students from any batch who were admitted on open merit and are currently enrolled, provided their family income falls below the poverty threshold used by the Higher Education Commission. Self-finance students are not eligible for the program. Final selection depends on an assessment carried out by the university's own Institutional Scholarship Award Committee and on the funding available for the cycle.
Students must first complete an online data-entry form, then obtain and fill out a hard copy of the application, and submit it along with supporting documents to the Students Financial Aid Office (SFAO) at the Lahore campus before the deadline.
The list of required documents is extensive: academic transcripts or degree copies, a passport-size photograph, CNIC copies of the applicant and of a parent or guardian, a domicile certificate, recent utility bills (electricity, gas, telephone and water), Form B showing family size, the latest salary slip, pension book or income certificate as applicable, an income affidavit for families that run a business, a rent agreement for families living in rented housing, fee slips for any siblings currently studying, details of any scholarship previously received, and a statement of purpose. Students whose parent or guardian has died must also submit a death certificate.
Under HEC's Need-Based Scholarship rules, selected students have their university fees covered and receive a monthly stipend of Rs. 6,000 for the duration of their program, with five-year programs funded for all five years. HEC disburses funds through participating universities rather than paying students directly, and the scheme does not extend to students at private universities.
Students at other COMSATS campuses or other universities should check with their own Students Financial Aid Office, since application windows and requirements are set independently by each institution.
