The Federal Board has pushed the deadline for HSSC registration returns to October 30, 2026, after affiliated institutions — especially in Azad Jammu and Kashmir — asked for more time.

The Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (FBISE), Islamabad, has extended the deadline for affiliated institutions to submit Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSSC) registration returns, moving it to October 30, 2026. According to the board, the extension was granted after affiliated colleges and schools requested additional time, with institutions in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) in particular reporting difficulty completing the registration process within the earlier window. The decision followed the direction of Federal Minister for Education and Professional Training Dr Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui. Institutions will be able to submit their HSSC registration returns by the new date while paying only the normal registration return fee, with no late charge mentioned for submissions made before October 30. FBISE said it is issuing a revised notification to all affiliated institutions to formalise the extension. Heads of institutions have been asked to ensure that registration returns for all eligible students are complete, accurate, and filed in line with the board's rules before the new deadline. Students and parents at FBISE-affiliated colleges should check with their institution to confirm their registration has been submitted, since the responsibility for filing returns rests with the college or school rather than with individual students.
