The Federal Board's SSC Part I and II Second Annual Examinations began September 24 as evening-session papers, with Practical-Based Assessments and other practicals continuing into late October.
Students in Islamabad and other Federal Board jurisdictions who are retaking SSC papers to clear a subject or improve their grade have been sitting the Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education's (FBISE) SSC Part I and II Second Annual Examinations since September 24, with practical components of the exam still running through late October.
The written papers officially began on Thursday, September 24, and are being held in an evening session. Candidates must report to their examination centres by 2:00 PM for identity checks, seating arrangements, and attendance, with papers starting at 2:30 PM and most lasting three hours until around 5:30 PM. FBISE has indicated that gates close promptly and latecomers are not given extra time, so candidates have been advised to arrive well ahead of the reporting deadline.
Alongside the written papers, the exam includes a Practical-Based Assessment (PBA) component for applicable subjects. FBISE has not published a full subject-wise practical schedule in its general notification, directing candidates instead to the detailed date sheet on the official board portal for exact practical dates and subject codes.
The timetable applies to both regular and private candidates across Pakistan and abroad who are retaking SSC Part I or Part II papers, whether to clear a previously failed subject or to improve an existing grade.
FBISE has said electronic roll number slips are being made available through its portal, and that it does not mail physical copies, placing the responsibility on students to download and print their own slips. Candidates are being urged to verify the details on their slip, including their name, father's name, photograph, registered subjects, and assigned examination centre, and to report any discrepancy to the board's equivalence or examination branch promptly rather than waiting until exam day.
On each paper day, candidates must bring their printed roll number slip along with a valid school ID or other government-issued identification, and come prepared with their own writing instruments, geometry box, and scientific calculator where permitted. The full date sheet, including exact practical exam dates for each subject, is available only on the official FBISE portal under its Date Sheets section.
