HEC and USEFP have opened the Fulbright Scholar Program 2027, inviting Pakistani PhD holders to apply for fully funded lecturing and research stints in the US before the October 28 deadline.
Pakistan's Higher Education Commission (HEC), working with the United States Educational Foundation in Pakistan (USEFP), has opened applications for the Fulbright Scholar Program 2027, giving Pakistani academics and professionals a chance to lecture or conduct post-doctoral research at American universities.
HEC described the program as one of the most competitive and fully funded exchange opportunities available internationally, run under the long-standing HEC-USEFP bilateral partnership.
The program is open to candidates in all academic disciplines except clinical medicine. To qualify, applicants must hold a PhD or an equivalent terminal degree in their field, demonstrate strong English communication skills, and be Pakistani citizens who are currently residing and working in Pakistan.
Selected scholars can receive up to ten months of grant support covering international airfare, a living stipend, health insurance, and a research allowance. The grant also extends funding to cover one accompanying dependent, making it easier for scholars to travel with family.
Interested applicants must submit their applications online through USEFP's official website before the deadline of October 28, 2026. HEC has urged candidates to carefully review the eligibility criteria, required documents, and submission guidelines on the USEFP portal before applying, and to check the HEC website for details of other available scholarships.
With just over two weeks left before applications close, eligible Pakistani academics are encouraged to begin preparing their application materials, including research proposals and supporting documents, without delay.
