The Ministry of Religious Affairs has opened scholarship applications for minority students at government institutions, with a household income cap of Rs 80,000 and a 30-day application window.

The Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony has opened applications for its Minorities' Welfare Fund scholarships for the 2026-27 cycle, offering financial support to religious minority students enrolled at government institutions from the primary level up through professional university degrees. Applications opened on Tuesday, September 8, 2026. To qualify, a student must be a regular, full-time learner at a public-sector institution and must have scored at least 50% marks in their most recent annual examination. The ministry has excluded students enrolled at private institutions, as well as those in diploma programs, distance-learning courses, MPhil, or LLB programs, from this cycle. Financial eligibility is also a requirement: the combined monthly income of a student's parents or guardian must not exceed Rs 80,000. Applicants must submit an online form within 30 days of the announcement, after which a printed copy of the form, along with supporting documents, must reach the ministry's Islamabad office within five additional days. The application process requires students to first complete the digital form on the ministry's official website. After submission, the system generates a computer-tracked form that must be printed and mailed, along with attested documents, to the ministry's office in Blue Area, Islamabad. Required paperwork includes attested marks sheets or progress reports, a valid CNIC or NADRA B-Form, an original income certificate from the guardian, and a bank account maintenance letter issued on official bank stationery. The ministry has warned that incomplete submissions or those received after the deadline will be disqualified, so eligible students are advised to prepare their documents early and apply well within the window.
