Imperial College London has opened its President's PhD Scholarship for 2027-28, offering 50 fully funded places with a £27,036 annual stipend; the scholarship carries no nationality restriction and is open to Pakistani students, with rounds closing from November 2026.

Imperial College London has opened applications for its President's PhD Scholarship for the 2027-28 intake, offering 50 fully funded places to high-performing PhD applicants from around the world, including Pakistan. Selected scholars receive full tuition fee coverage for three and a half years, an annual stipend of £27,036, and an additional £2,000 per year for research consumables during the first three years of the program. The scholarship carries no nationality restriction, so Pakistani applicants are eligible alongside UK and other international students. Candidates generally need a first-class undergraduate degree or an integrated Master's degree, or an equivalent qualification; those applying on the strength of a standalone Master's degree are normally expected to have achieved a distinction. The scholarship is only open to new PhD applicants -- students already registered in an Imperial College PhD program cannot apply. Before applying, candidates must first secure agreement from an eligible Imperial College academic to supervise their research. They then submit their application through Imperial's online admissions system and select the scholarship option in the funding section; their department subsequently assesses and nominates eligible candidates for the award. The scholarship is being offered across three application rounds. The first round closes on November 2, 2026, with decisions by January 31, 2027; the second closes January 11, 2027, with decisions by April 15, 2027; and the third and final round closes March 1, 2027, with decisions by May 31, 2027. Successful PhD candidates are expected to begin their studies between August 1 and November 1, 2027.
