The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Education Employees Foundation has announced merit-based scholarships worth Rs. 8,000 a month for children of education department employees, with applications due by January 15, 2027.
The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Education Employees Foundation (EEF), established under the Education Employees Foundation Act 2018, has announced its merit scholarship programme for the 2026-27 academic year, aimed at children of the province's education department employees, including those who have since retired.
The scholarships are open to students enrolled at a government or privately recognised school, college or institution in Pakistan, across three broad levels: Class 10 (Matric), Intermediate, and Bachelor's/Degree programmes. At the Matric level, applicants in both Science and Arts groups can apply. At the Intermediate level, the scholarship covers Part I and Part II students in FA/F.Sc, Polytechnic, D.Com, Home Economics, DBA and equivalent programmes. At the degree level, it covers Part I and Part II students in BA/BSc, BCom, BBA, BTech, MBBS, BE, BCS, BIT and equivalent programmes.
Selection for the Class 10 scholarship is based on merit calculated from the applicant's 9th-grade results, while Intermediate and Degree-level awards are based on the results of the previous academic level, as recorded by the relevant education or technical board. Successful applicants receive a stipend of Rs. 8,000 per month across all eligible education levels.
To apply, candidates must be children of Education Department employees and provide proof of their parent's employment along with registration with the Foundation. Applicants must obtain the prescribed scholarship application form from the Foundation's office, which can also be accessed by email or through the Foundation's Facebook page, or collected via schools and colleges where forms are circulated. Completed forms, along with photocopies of the required supporting documents, must be submitted to the Foundation's office directly or through proper official channels, attested as specified on the form.
The Foundation has set January 15, 2027, as the last date for receiving completed applications, with announcements and newspaper advertisements for the scholarship typically following the declaration of public examination results. Once applications are processed, the Foundation publishes its list of awardees and shares it with the relevant institutions; scholarship cheques are then sent to the heads of institutions for disbursement to students against proper receipts. If an awardee becomes ineligible or forfeits the scholarship, the vacant slot moves to the next eligible student on the merit list, and if applications from one gender fall short of the quota in a given district, those seats are reallocated to the other gender within the same district.
