Maastricht University's NL-High Potential Scholarship for Master's students is now accepting applications, with around 21 fully funded awards available and a deadline of 1 February 2027.
Maastricht University in the Netherlands has opened applications for its NL-High Potential Scholarship for the 2027-2028 academic year, offering fully funded places to outstanding international Master's students, including those from Pakistan.
The scholarship is open to citizens of countries outside the European Union, European Economic Area, Switzerland, and Suriname who are able to obtain the necessary Dutch entry visa and residence permit; applicants may not hold dual nationality with an EU/EEA country or Switzerland.
Around 21 full scholarships are awarded each year. Recipients receive full tuition fee coverage along with a living stipend of €20,150 for 13-month programmes or €38,750 for 25-month programmes, plus roughly €700 toward health and liability insurance, visa application costs, pre-academic training costs, and participation in the university's International Student Ambassador Programme. International airfare is not covered.
Applications opened on 1 October 2026 and close on 1 February 2027 at 23:59 CET. To apply, candidates must first apply to a participating Master's programme through Studielink and obtain a Maastricht University student ID, then submit a separate scholarship application with a CV of no more than two pages, a motivation letter, an academic transcript with GPA explanation, a statement of financial need, and a reference letter with the referee's contact details.
Given that only a small fraction of applicants are typically selected, interested students are encouraged to prepare their application materials well ahead of the February deadline.
