Sindh's MDCAT 2026 results show not a single Karachi Division candidate in the top 20, with a Shikarpur student topping the provincial list at 179 out of 180 marks.
Results of the Medical and Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT) 2026 for Sindh, administered by Sukkur IBA (STS) Testing Services, show that no candidate from Karachi Division placed among the province's top 20 scorers, even though the city hosted two of the nine test centres used across Sindh.
The test was held on 20 September 2026 at centres in Karachi, Hyderabad, Jamshoro, Mirpurkhas, Shaheed Benazirabad, Larkana, Sukkur and Islamabad. A total of 33,336 candidates appeared, of whom 22,538 passed -- all of them female students. Overall, more than 16,500 candidates across both genders met the minimum marks required to qualify for MBBS admission.
The highest score in the province was 179 out of 180, achieved by a female candidate from Shikarpur. She was followed by two candidates from Tharparkar who each scored 178 marks, and single candidates from Larkana and Qambar-Shahdadkot rounding out the top scorers. The first Karachi-based candidate to qualify ranked only 21st overall, underscoring a notable gap between the city and smaller districts in this year's results.
The results were not without controversy: four candidates submitted entirely blank answer sheets, while 21 others scored just 30 marks each. Testing officials said these cases would be referred to the Federal Investigation Agency for further inquiry.
