The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council has postponed the NRE Step-I examination from October 11 to November 8, 2026, citing unavoidable circumstances.
The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) has rescheduled its National Registration Examination (NRE) Step-I, moving it from its original date of October 11, 2026 to a new date of November 8, 2026, a Sunday.
A notification issued by the Examination Department of the PMDC cited "unavoidable circumstances" for the change, without elaborating further on the reason.
The NRE Step-I is the registration examination required of Pakistani medical and dental graduates who completed their qualifications at institutions outside Pakistan, and is a mandatory step for them to register with the council and practice in the country.
The notification states that the revised date applies to all candidates who were scheduled to appear in the exam. The PMDC has advised candidates to watch for further instructions from the examination department regarding the rescheduled test, but has not announced any other changes to the examination process at this time.
