The Punjab government has kicked off its Honhaar Scholarship and laptop distribution drive, starting with a ceremony at the University of Sahiwal, with events planned across all nine divisions through November.
The Punjab government has begun distributing scholarships and free laptops to students under its Honhaar Scholarship Programme, with a rollout schedule covering all nine divisions of the province through October and November.
Provincial Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat announced the schedule on social media, confirming that the first distribution ceremony was held on October 15 at the University of Sahiwal. Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz attended the event, where scholarships and laptops were handed out to students from Sahiwal, Okara, and Pakpattan districts.
According to the minister, similar ceremonies will follow in the remaining divisions over the coming weeks, with the entire distribution exercise expected to wrap up by the end of November. The government has not yet disclosed how many students will receive scholarships or laptops at each event, nor has it released a full province-wide tally for this phase of the programme.
The Honhaar Scholarship Programme is a flagship initiative of the Punjab government aimed at supporting talented and financially deserving students across the province, combining cash scholarships with digital access through free laptops. Students and institutions in divisions yet to receive their ceremony dates are expected to be notified as the schedule progresses.
