Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has opened the fourth phase of the Punjab Honhaar Scholarship Program, covering both new Fall 2026 entrants and continuing students, with online applications closing November 9, 2026.

The Punjab government has launched the fourth phase of its Honhaar Scholarship Program, giving students across the province a fresh window to apply for financial support toward their higher education. Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz announced the new phase, noting that the program has already benefited roughly 160,000 students studying across 70 different disciplines since it began. Online applications for this phase will remain open until November 9, 2026, through the official Honhaar Scholarship portal. The scheme is open only to holders of a Punjab domicile, with no restrictions based on age or gender, and it covers two broad groups of applicants. The first group consists of students entering their first semester or first year in Fall 2026, including newly admitted MBBS and BDS students. To qualify, their monthly family income must fall below Rs. 350,000 if enrolled at a public-sector institution, or below Rs. 500,000 at a partner federal or private institution. Minimum academic requirements vary by institution type, ranging from 65-70 percent in intermediate exams for science and arts students at public and private universities to 80 percent for students entering public medical and dental colleges. The second group covers students already in their second semester or beyond at public universities, public medical and dental colleges, or Higher Education Department colleges; private and federal institutions are not included in this category. These continuing students must also meet a monthly family income cap of Rs. 350,000, along with minimum GPA or annual-exam requirements that range from 60 to 70 percent depending on their field and institution. For all applicants, merit is determined using a formula that weighs intermediate results at 70 percent and matric results at 30 percent. Required documents include a recent photograph, both sides of the applicant's CNIC, matric and intermediate certificates, a Punjab domicile certificate, and a sworn income affidavit. Applicants must register on the portal with their own CNIC, as using someone else's identity information can lead to disqualification. The scholarship is limited to students enrolled in disciplines and institutions on the program's official participating list, so applicants are advised to confirm eligibility before applying.
