Ten students who sat Sindh's MDCAT 2026 have petitioned the Sindh High Court to force release of the question paper and answer keys, and to pause the merit list pending review.
Ten candidates who appeared in this year's Medical and Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT) in Sindh have filed a petition in the Sindh High Court seeking the release of the exam's question paper and official answer keys, along with a halt to the preparation of the final merit list.
The petition, filed through advocate Muhammad Nawaz Dahri, names six respondents including the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council, Sukkur IBA University and Jinnah Sindh Medical University. The students are asking the court to direct these bodies to publish the complete question paper and answer keys within three days of any order.
According to the petition, the MDCAT was conducted on 20 September 2026, and candidates were handed only carbon copies of their answer sheets afterward; they were not permitted to keep the original question papers. The petitioners argue this prevented them from independently checking their responses against the correct answers or challenging any answers they believe were marked incorrectly, even though small scoring differences can significantly affect merit rankings and, in turn, admission to medical colleges.
The petitioners have also asked the court to suspend the medical college admission process and the compilation of the final merit list until the dispute over the answer keys is resolved. As of the article's publication, no ruling on the petition had been issued.
