The University of Health Sciences has approved a one-time relief measure letting first-semester BS Nursing students who were detained sit resit exams in March 2027.

The University of Health Sciences (UHS), Lahore has approved a one-time relief measure for first-semester BS Nursing students across Punjab who had been detained in their exams, allowing them to sit resit papers in March 2027. The decision was taken at the 44th meeting of the UHS Board of Studies (Nursing), chaired by Vice-Chancellor Major General (R) Prof. Sohail Sabir. Besides approving the resit accommodation, the same meeting also finalised the nursing examination schedule for 2027 and the 2026 annual examination calendar. The relief addresses students who had been barred from appearing in their exams, giving them a path to continue their degree rather than lose an academic year outright. The university has not detailed the exact subjects or process for the March 2027 resit beyond approving the one-time accommodation. The move follows a period of unease among nursing students in Punjab after UHS raised the BS Nursing passing mark from 50% to 60%, which had prompted some students, including a group in Rawalpindi, to seek reconsideration of the stricter threshold. Affected students should watch for a formal notification from their nursing college or from UHS confirming the exact date, subjects, and registration process for the March 2027 resit examinations.
