The University of Health Sciences' Academic Council has approved the annual professional examination dates for MBBS and BDS students at medical and dental colleges across Punjab, with most exams scheduled between January and April 2027.
The University of Health Sciences (UHS) has finalised the schedule for its 2027 annual professional examinations, affecting MBBS and BDS students enrolled at constituent and affiliated medical and dental colleges across Punjab. The schedule was approved at the 44th meeting of the university's Academic Council, chaired by Vice Chancellor Maj Gen (retd) Prof Sohail Sabir.
For MBBS students, the First Professional examination is set to begin in the first week of January 2027, followed by the Second Professional examination in the first week of April 2027. The Fourth Professional exam will take place in the third week of March, while the Final Professional examination is scheduled for the third week of February 2027. The Third Professional exam falls in the first week of February.
BDS students will follow a separate timeline, with the First Professional examination to be held in the second week of February, and the Second Professional examination following in the second week of April. The Third Professional exam is scheduled for the fourth week of March, and the Final Professional examination will be conducted in the third week of April 2027.
The announcement did not include specific registration deadlines for any of these examinations, so students should watch for a follow-up notification from UHS with form submission details closer to each exam date.
At the same Academic Council meeting, UHS also approved revised curricula for four postgraduate dental specialties and ten Allied Health Sciences programs. The council additionally discussed a proposal to set up a new Department of Regenerative Medicine offering MPhil and PhD programs, pending regulatory approval, along with proposed changes to eligibility criteria and admission-test score thresholds for MPhil, master's, and PhD programs.
