The University of Health Sciences has announced the 2026-27 MBBS and BDS admission schedule for public-sector medical and dental colleges in Punjab, with MBBS applications closing October 30.
The University of Health Sciences (UHS), Lahore, has issued the admission schedule for MBBS and BDS programs at public-sector medical and dental colleges across Punjab for the 2026-27 academic session, following the Punjab government's admission policy notified on October 14, 2026 by the Specialized Healthcare and Medical Education Department.
For MBBS, online applications opened on October 16, 2026, and will close on October 30, 2026, at 5:00 PM. Following the deadline, a provisional merit list is due on November 13, with the final merit list to follow on November 16. UHS will then issue college-wise selection lists in three rounds, with classes for selected students scheduled to begin on February 1, 2027.
For BDS, the timeline runs later: applications open December 15, 2026, and close December 30, 2026, with classes set to begin March 1, 2027.
Applicants must apply through separate portals for each program: publicmbbs.uhs.edu.pk for MBBS and publicbds.uhs.edu.pk for BDS. A non-refundable processing fee of Rs. 2,000 must be paid through the Bank of Punjab, and UHS has specifically advised against using the 1Bill top-up payment option. Required documents must be uploaded as PNG or JPG files within the specified size limits; hard copies are not submitted to UHS.
To be eligible, candidates must have passed MDCAT 2024 or 2025 with at least 55% for MBBS or 50% for BDS, along with HSSC Pre-Medical (or an IBCC-recognized equivalent) with a minimum of 60% marks, including Biology, Chemistry, and Physics or Mathematics. Overseas Pakistani and dual-national applicants may alternatively submit SAT-II or ACT scores under specified conditions. Merit for admission is calculated using a weightage of 50% for MDCAT, 40% for FSc/HSSC, and 10% for matriculation.
Seats are available across several categories, including open merit, under-developed districts, Cholistan, students with disabilities, reciprocal seats, and overseas Pakistani seats, each with its own documentation requirements. Selected overseas Pakistani candidates are required to pay an annual fee of US$10,000 along with a prescribed undertaking.
The schedule covers 19 public-sector MBBS colleges and five public-sector dental colleges across Punjab, including King Edward Medical College, Allama Iqbal Medical College, and Nishtar Medical College. UHS has noted that the schedule may be revised if the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council or the Government of Punjab issues further directions. Students are advised to regularly check the official UHS website for updates before the application windows close.
