GCU Lahore has opened a third and final admission phase for Fall 2026, with the application window closing October 2, 2026 and 60% scholarships on offer for a specific set of BS programmes.
Government College University (GCU) Lahore has opened Phase III of its Fall 2026 undergraduate admissions, giving students who missed earlier phases one more chance to secure a seat this year. The window is short: the last date to submit applications is October 2, 2026, and students applying for Physical Education (PE) programmes must also sit a physical efficiency test on October 4, 2026.
What Programmes Are Available in Phase III
GCU Lahore runs admissions across two campuses, and Phase III covers different subjects at each:
Main Campus (Katchery Road): BS programmes in Biology, Botany, Molecular Biology, Microbiology, Physics, and Zoology. Most of these are morning programmes, with the Physics BS offered in the evening.
New Campus (Kala Shah Kaku): BS programmes in BFA Visual Arts, BFA Film and Digital Arts, Disaster Management, Geography, Mathematics, and Remote Sensing/GIS — all offered as morning programmes.
Both campuses also offer evening Forensic Science options: a 6-month certificate and a 1-year diploma.
The 60% Scholarship — Which Programmes Qualify
GCU Lahore is offering a 60% fee scholarship for students admitted into a specific list of BS programmes, split by campus:
- Main Campus: Library and Information Science, Persian, Punjabi, Philosophy, Translation Studies, Turkish Language and Literature, and Urdu.
- New Campus: Agriculture, Archive Studies, Art History, Global Studies, History, Islamic Studies, and Physical Education.
This scholarship is tied to admission into these named programmes specifically — it is not a general, university-wide discount, so students who are flexible about their choice of major and want to reduce their fee burden should look closely at whether one of these subjects fits their interests and career plans.
How to Apply
Applications are submitted online through GCU Lahore's admission portal. There is a processing fee that must be paid before submission is complete:
- Rs. 1,000 for BS and Diploma programmes
- Rs. 500 for Certificate programmes
Importantly, GCU is not accepting online payments for this fee — payment must be made at a UBL (United Bank Limited) branch. Students should factor in the time needed to visit a branch and complete this step before the October 2 deadline, rather than leaving it for the final day.
Admission Basis and Entry Tests
For most Phase III programmes, admission is based on your Intermediate Part-I marks, and there is no separate entrance test required. There are two notable exceptions:
- BFA disciplines (Visual Arts and Film and Digital Arts) require applicants to sit an entrance examination.
- PE (Physical Education) candidates must pass a physical efficiency test, scheduled for October 4, 2026.
Students applying to Geography, Mathematics, Remote Sensing/GIS, or any of the science subjects at the Main Campus should have their Intermediate Part-I result and transcript ready to upload as part of the online application, since no additional test is required for these.
Why This Deadline Matters
Because this is described as a Phase III — a later, supplementary intake — students should not assume there will be a further round if they miss October 2. Earlier admission phases at GCU Lahore for the same Fall 2026 intake have already opened and closed over the preceding months, and Phase III appears aimed at filling remaining seats, particularly in the scholarship-eligible programmes listed above. Waiting for a hypothetical Phase IV is a risk students considering GCU Lahore this fall should not take.
Quick Checklist Before You Apply
- Confirm which campus (Katchery Road or Kala Shah Kaku) offers your intended programme.
- Check whether your programme is on the 60% scholarship list — if it is, and you're open to the subject, this can substantially lower your total fee cost.
- Plan a UBL branch visit in advance to pay your processing fee, since online payment is not accepted.
- If applying for a BFA programme, prepare for the required entrance exam; if applying for PE, prepare for the physical efficiency test on October 4.
- Submit your online application well before October 2 to leave room for any last-minute document or payment issues.
Students in Lahore weighing their remaining Fall 2026 options should treat this Phase III window as a genuine opportunity, especially if a scholarship-eligible subject matches their interests — but with the fee-payment requirement tied to an in-person bank visit, the practical deadline to start the process is really a few days before October 2, not the date itself.
